McNamara, Jandyala Get Wins at Both Singles and Doubles vs. SWU

BELMONT, NC - The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 decision to Southern Wesleyan this afternoon.  The Abbey is now 8-13 on the season and 2-6 in Conference Carolinas play.  SWU improves to 8-6 overall and 6-2 against conference opponents.

Aisiri Jandyala and Teagan McNamara got the day started off well for The Abbey as they won their #1 doubles match 8-7.  Unfortunately, they were the only doubles winners, as the team trailed 2-1 heading into singles play.

Jandyala and McNamara also won each of their singles matches.  Jandyala took a 6-4, 6-1 victory at the #1 spot, while McNamara, at #2, claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win.  The only other Crusader to win at singles was Alex Weber, who capped the day off with a successful 6-3, 6-1 campaign at #6.
