Crusaders Fall Short in Women's Tennis Opener

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey split singles action, but an advantage in doubles proved to be the difference as the Crusaders dropped a 5-4 decision to Catawba Tuesday afternoon in the dual meet opener for both teams.

After Aisiri Jandyala and Alex Weber gained an 8-3 win in doubles, Jandyala earned another point with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Erika Noblett and Sofia Moreno also took home wins at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively.
