Glunt Claims First-Place in King Open

BRISTOL, TENN., - The Belmont Abbey wrestling team came away with eight top-four finishers in the King Open. Jake Glunt took the crown in the 174 weight class. Greg Hilliard and Nathan Oakley both captured a second place finish. Troy Gregor and Chaas Delgado won third place matches. While Tyler MacLaine, Matt Sloan, and Cade Davis all secured fourth place finishes. All Crusaders competed in the King Open hosted at King University.

Glunt went 5-0 on his way to his first-place finish. Hilliard went 3-1 in the 165 weight class with Oakley matching that record in the 125 class. Both Gregor (141) and Delgado (285) went 4-1 on the day, while Davis (125) and Sloan (149) went 4-2. MacLaine went 3-2 on the road to his fourth-place finish.

Brandon Dills recorded three wins on the day in the 184 weight division. John Wilson (174), Brian Girard (184), Andrew Pegram (174), Travis Allen (149), and Alex Rounceville (149) all managed two victories in the open.

The Crusaders will host St. Andrews Wednesday, November 15 at 1 P.M.
