Eastman Records 10 Points in 16-4 Win Over Converse

BELMONT, N.C. - Kylie Eastman scored six goals and handed out four assists as the Belmont Abbey Women's Lacrosse team rolled past Converse College 16-4 this evening.  The victory puts The Abbey at 4-4 on the season, with a 2-1 Conference Carolinas record.  The Valkyries are now 2-3 overall, with a 2-1 conference mark

How it Happened

  • Marin Felsoci only needed two minutes to give The Abbey a lead it would never lose.  Eastman scored twice in the next 11 minutes to put the Crusaders on top 4-0
  • Belmont Abbey did not give up a goal until the 12:49 mark
  • Felsoci added two more goals in the last 12 minutes of the first, off passes from Sarah Ciampa and Eastman, to give the Crusaders an 8-1 lead
  • Angelina Perrone capped off the half with a goal in the closing seconds, and BAC held a 9-1 lead at halftime.  The Crusaders outshot the Valkyries 19-2 in the opening half
  • In the second, it was again Felsoci scoring very early, off a pass from Katherine Haenlein
  • Converse scored three goals in a row, before Eastman scored two and set up Haenlein for another to make it a 13-4 Abbey lead
  • Eastman finished off the game with a goal with 1:56 to play, and Belmont Abbey earned the 16-4 victory
  • On the evening, Eastman was The Abbey's leader with six goals on eight shots and four assists.  She also caused the most turnovers for the Crusaders, with three
  • Felsoci won a game-high seven draw controls
  • The strong Abbey defense only gave up 13 shots in the game.  Belmont Abbey picked up 30 ground balls, to 19 for Converse
