Felsoci Records Eight Goals in Senior Day Victory Over UVA-Wise

BELMONT, N.C. - Marin Felsoci scored eight goals and won 10 draw controls in a 18-15 victory over UVA-Wise on Senior Day.  The win puts The Abbey at 3-4 on the year.  The Cavaliers dipped to 2-4.  Annie Brannon, Madison Eberhardt, Lauren Lavarias, and Ashley Mistretta were the seniors who were recognized this afternoon.

How it Happened

  • Kylie Eastman put The Abbey on the board first with a free position goal 2:28 into the contest.  Just 33 seconds later, Felsoci made it 2-0 on a pass from Jenna Niedzwiedzki
  • Later in the half, Felsoci and Eastman scored just 1:40 apart from each other to tied the game at five
  • Felsoci scored twice in the last four minutes of the half, including a free position goal, and the Crusaders led 9-7 at halftime
  • The Crusader defense did not give up a goal in the first seven minutes of the second half
  • Later in the half, Belmont Abbey scored six straight goals, three in a 1:39 span, to take an 18-13 lead with 3:36 remaining.  The team finished off the game with the 18-15 victory
  • On the day, Felsoci was The Abbey's leader with eight goals and 10 draw controls.  She also caused two turnovers
  • Eastman scored five goals and won seven draw controls
  • Defensively, Sarah Schaefer caused three turnovers
  • As a unit, Belmont Abbey won 25 draw controls, to the Cavaliers' 10.  The Crusaders also scored on seven of their 12 free position opportunities
