Crusaders Capture Second at Cherokee Valley

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey women's golf team finished second in the Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational at Cherokee Valley Tuesday. The Crusaders shot a 660 in their two rounds, just two shots behind the winner North Greenville. After finish the first round in third with a 337, The Abbey handed in a 323 in the second round to take second.

Haley Helton and Jenna Nagy led the way for The Abbey both shooting 163 and tying for eighth. Kaitlyn Gribbon and Lizzie Hordes shot identical 167 giving them both 16th place. Taylor Cozart shot a 188 to take a share of 52nd.

Competing as individuals, Autumn Senter shot a 176 tying for 33rd, Jamie Treece scored a 179 for 40th, and Olivia Young's 192 gave her 56th place.

Belmont Abbey will prepare for the Conference Carolinas Championships at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C. on April 15-17.
