Gribbon Tied for Sixth After Day One of Rendleman Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey recorded one of its lowest team scores in recent memory Monday, shooting 316 to stand in eighth place just 11 strokes off the lead at the 2016 Patsy Rendleman Invitational, held at the Country Club of Salisbury.

Junior Kaitlyn Gribbon shot three-over 75 to stand tied for sixth, while Dametrah Lewis is in a tie for 21st with a 79. Haley Helton shot 80 for a tie for 28th, while Taylor Cozart is tied for 41st with an 82. Anne Parlmer rounded out the scoring with an 84, tied for 53rd.

Tusculum is the team leader at 305, one stroke ahead of Wingate, which boasts the individual leader, Cristina Casanella, at one-under 71.

Two other Crusaders are playing the tournament as individuals: Autumn Senter (82/t41st) and Elizabeth Hordes (93/72nd).

The final round will be played tomorrow.
