Gribbon Takes Home Cutter Creek Medalist Honors

SNOW HILL, N.C. -- For the second straight day, junior Kaitlyn Gribbon carded a one-over 73, earning her medalist honors at the Cutter Creek Invitational. As a team, Belmont Abbey improved 15 strokes, but stayed in seventh place overall.

First-round leader Ashlii Thompson of UNC Pembroke shot a six-over 78 to fall to second at 149.

Haley Helton tied for 29th overall at 165 (84-81), while Anne Parlmer climbed into a tie for 41st at 175 (89-86). Taylor Cozart was one shot back in a tie for 44th at 176 (94-82), while Jamie Treece rounded out the scoring at 181 (91-90/t48th). The Crusaders' team score was 337-322=659.

Belmont Abbey's other team in the competition also improved, going from 369 yesterday to 351 today to climb to 10th.Elizabeth Hordes (90-85) and Autumn Senter (95-80) tied for 41st at 175, while Dametrah Lewis tied for 48th at 90-91=181. Karleigh Morrison was 54th at 192 (94-98) and Deanna Young finished with a score of 200 (105-95).
