Women's Golf Posts Lowest Round Of The Fall To Finish Ninth At Rendleman Invitational

The Belmont Abbey women's golf team closed with a final round 318-the lowest of the fall season and 27 shots fewer than yesterday's total-as the Crusaders finished ninth out of 14 teams at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. The 36 hole event was hosted by Catawba College at the Country Club of Salisbury.

The 318 is the lowest score since the final round of the Cutter Creek Invitational on September 8, in which the Abbey carded a 319. The 319 score was the Crusaders lowest since the 2010-11 season until today's round.

Belmont Abbey began the day in 12th place after firing an opening round 335 as three players carded the exact same score. Today, the Crusaders were 27 shots better as three players shaved at least five strokes off of their Monday rounds.

Haley Helton opened with an 83 yesterday and closed with a 76 as she ended up in a tie for 17th. Anne Parlmer also posted a round of 83 yesterday and closed with a 77 to finish tied for 20th.

Kaitlyn Gribbon began the day tied for 57th with a round of 86, but today's round of 81 moved her into a tie for 45th, joining teammate Jamie Treece. Treece posted rounds of 83 and 84. Sarah King finished alone in 72nd with scores of 93 and 97.
