Women's Golf Closes With Best Round In Five Years To Finish Fifth At Cutter Creek Invitational

The Belmont Abbey women's golf team carded a final round score of 319-its best score since the 2010-11 season-as four of five players improved on yesterday's round to finish fifth out of 10 teams at the Cutter Creek Invitational. The 36 hole event was staged at the par 72 Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Camp, North Carolina. It was hosted by Barton.

Belmont Abbey opened with a 326 yesterday, bettering its previous best round by two strokes set last year, and improved five more strokes today as the Crusaders finished with a 319. It was the best single round score since the Fall of 2010.

Kaitlyn Gribbon opened with an 80 and totaled a 77 today to finish in a tie for 11th. Anne Parlmer posted rounds of 82 and 78 to finish tied for 16th. Sarah King opened with a 77 but fell to an 85 today as she ended up in a tie for 22nd.

Haley Helton made the biggest move, improving eight shots from yesterday's 87 to finish alone in 27th. Lauren Brychell carded rounds of 92 and 88 to finish tied for 40th.
