Crusaders Hang Tough in King Tri-Match

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Less than 18 hours after a key conference win at Limestone Friday night, Belmont Abbey ventured back out on the road Saturday, dropping both ends on a tri-match at King. The Crusaders were defeated 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-21) by Bluefield College in the opener, before suffering a three-game setback (25-18, 25-19, 25-18) against the hosts in the nightcap.

In the opener, Gavin Schaffer registered 12 kills, while William Morris tallied 11 kills.

Liam Maxwell, who was held out of the first match to rest, led The Abbey with 12 in the second match.

Belmont Abbey continues its road swing Tuesday night at Lees-McRae.
