Men's Tennis Wins Three Singles Matches In 6-3 Loss To League-Leading Mount Olive

The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team won all three of the singles matches that were played in a 6-3 loss to the visiting Mount Olive Trojans this afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center. Mount Olive stays atop the league standings with a record of 14-1 overall and an unblemished mark of 8-0 in league play, while the Abbey falls to 1-12 overall and 0-5 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey forfeited five matches (two doubles and three singles matches) but the Crusaders won all three of the singles matches that were contested.

Juan Baez posted a three set win at number one singles, as he won the first set 6-3 before losing the second set by the same score. He won the ten point tiebreaker by a 10-6 count.

At number two, Conner McMann posted a straight sets victory by scores of 7-6 (9-7), 6-3.

Lastly, Eduardo Escobar posted an easy 6-1, 6-1 victory at number three singles.

Belmont Abbey is back in action Thursday when it travels to Lees-McRae.
