Men's Soccer Honors Seniors in Final Home Game

BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team celebrated their seniors before their final home game Saturday at Alumni Field. The Crusaders competed against No. 14 Pfeiffer in their final conference match. The Falcons won 3-0 improving to 15-2 on the season and 10-0 in Conference Carolinas.

Before the match the Crusaders recognized the seven senior member of the club who have played a special role on the team in their time at Abbey. Clay Dimick, Nick Fuller, Jordan Gardner, Liam Quinn, Sean Trompeter, Juan Villa, and Thomas Hamilton were all honored by their team and coaches with gifts to show their appreciation for all they have done.

During the match Pfeiffer's Nathan Regis scored early in the third minute, his 16th goal of the season, to give the Falcons the lead. The Crusaders stayed competitive with the Falcons throughout the first half as that was the only goal before entering the intermission.

In the second half the Falcons grew their lead in the 74th minute when Santi Moar maneuvered around defenders before finding the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season. Pfeiffer's Regis added an insurance goal off a penalty kick, his 17th of the season, in the 82nd minute.

Crusaders keeper Wes Holifield recorded five saves on the night.

The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team finish the season 5-9-2 and 3-7 in the Conference Carolinas.
