Men's Lacrosse Pair Earns Scholar All-American Recognition

BELMONT, N.C. - Belmont Abbey seniors Kyle McGinley and Adam Wiedemann have been named Division II Scholar All-Americans, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced today.

Wiedemann finished the 2018 campaign with 38 goals, which was good enough for fifth in Conference Carolinas.  He also handed out 29 assists, earning him a tie for the conference lead, and a tie for 13th in the nation.  His 67 points on the year were third-best in Conference Carolinas, and among the nation's top 25 performances.  His performance earned him a third-team All-American recognition, his second year in a row of receiving All-American honors.  Wiedemann graduated in May with a degree in Business Management.

McGinley scored 19 goals on the year, which earned him All-American Honorable Mention.  It was also his second year in a row receiving All-American recognition.  McGinley graduated in May with a degree in Business Management.
