Men's Basketball Falls At Limestone, 87-69

The Belmont Abbey men's basketball team saw its two game winning streak snapped tonight as the Crusaders suffered an 87-69 road loss at Limestone this evening. The Saints improve to 10-4 overall and 2-2 in Conference Carolinas, while the Crusaders dip to 6-9 overall and 2-3 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey scored the first five points of the game on a jumper by Chris Davis followed by a three-pointer from Justin Kuhlman, but Limestone countered with a 10-0 run to take the lead for good.

The Saints would extend their lead and took a 41-29 lead into the break. Belmont Abbey netted the final five points of the half on a Darryl Durham layup and a Ryan Conrad three-pointer.

Belmont Abbey stayed within striking distance in the second half before the Saints pulled away late. The largest Limestone lead of the game was the final score as the Saints closed the scoring with 12 seconds left.

Davis led three Crusaders in double figures with 16 points. Kuhlman and Ray Chen both chipped in with 11. Jonathon Garrett's eight rebounds was a team high, while Durham added seven.

The Crusaders shot 40 percent from the floor (26-65) and converted 12 of 26 (46 percent) from three-point range.
