Rolly Homers Three Times in Crusaders Sweep of Chowan

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey baseball team swept the doubleheader at Chowan Friday to win their fifth Conference Carolinas series this year. Jakob Rolly went 6-for-8 on the day with three home runs and five RBI. The Crusaders improve to 24-20 on the season with a 14-10 Conference Carolinas record. Chowan moves to 13-20-1 on the year and 8-14 in league play.

Game One

Belmont Abbey 9, Chowan 2

Jakob Rolly went 3-for-4 in the opener with two home runs and three RBI.

Ben Sneider went 3-for-5 with a home run.

Rolly and Sneider hit back-to-back homers in the fifth inning.

Ben Gobbel, Mason Dodd, and Derrick Dabney all recorded two hits in the game.

Sam High pitched 8.0 innings allowing just four hits while striking out 12 to earn his fifth win of the year.

Will Carney tossed the ninth, recording a strikeout.

Game Two

Belmont Abbey 8, Chowan 2

Rolly went 3-for-4 with another home run in the second game, his 12th of the year.

Richard DeLaCruz collected two hits and scored two runs.

Zach Aehlert crushed his first home run of the year in the second inning.

Griffin Baker earned his sixth win of the year pitching four innings with six strikeouts.

Sam Luchansky, Jason White, and Parker MacPhail finished the game for The Abbey.
