Crusaders Sweep Limestone

BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey baseball team swept Limestone to win their fourth Conference Carolinas series of the year. The Abby improves to 22-20 on the year and 12-10 in league play. Limestone moves to 13-26 with a 7-14 conference record.

Game One

Belmont Abbey 6, Limestone 2

Jakob Rolly went 3-for-4 with two home runs.

Kale Rhame drove in two runs in the game.

Matty Bapst drove in a run with a ground ball in the second.

Griffin Baker earned his fifth win of the year pitching 5.0 innings not allowing an earned run while striking out three.

Jason White came on in relief to pitch the final two innings allowing only one run.

Game Two

Belmont Abbey 3, Limestone 2

Justin Moran went 3-for-3 with an RBI and walk.

The Crusaders scored two runs on the second inning on a Moran single and a sac fly from Ben Gobbel.

Ben Sneider drove in a run with a single in the seventh to give The Abbey the lead.

Sam Luchansky threw 6.1 innings allowing two runs and struck out two.

Blake Waldren earned his first win of the season pitching the final 2.2 innings with four strikeouts.
