PEMBROKE, N.C. – Center fielder and redshirt junior Nick Beinlich has been named the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Hitter of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Beinlich was also named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for the week of March 6-12.
The Easton, Pa. native batted .625 with 10 hits and led the Crusaders to four victories last week. Beinlich tallied six extra-base hits, including four home runs. He drove in 11 runs while scoring 10 himself. Nick went 3-for-5 with three homers and five RBI in a 17-13 win and went 5-for-5 in the 12-6 win over conference opponent Barton.
Beinlich leads the conference in home runs (13), stolen bases (14), and total bases (85). He ranks second in hits (40), third in RBI (31) and sixth in batting average (.392).
He was also named the OrthoCarolina Crusader of the week.
The Crusaders will host Armstrong State today at 4:00 p.m.
