Women's Soccer Adds 12 For 2013 Season

The Belmont Abbey College Crusaders women’s soccer team signed 12 new student-athletes for the 2013-2014 academic year. According to Head Coach Mike Lynch, “We are very excited about the potential of this recruiting class. Women's Soccer Edged By Columbus State, 2-1, In Second Round Of NCAA Tournament

The Belmont Abbey women's soccer season came to an end today as the Crusaders lost in the second round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament with a 2-1 loss to the host Columbus State Cougars. The Crusaders end their season with a mark of 12-10-1, while Columbus State advances to the Regional Final with a record of 18-3-1. ... (more)

Gebreyesus' Golden Goal Gives Abbey 1-0 Win Over Ninth-Ranked Lenoir-Rhyne In Opening Round Of NCAA Tournament

Belmont Abbey junior forward Ananda Gebreyesus scored the only goal of the match just 38 seconds into the first overtime to send the Crusaders women's soccer team into the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne this afternoon in Columbus, Georgia. The Crusaders advance to face the host Columbus State Cougars Sunday at 1:00 in the second round as they improve to 12-9-1. Lenoir-Rhyne, seeded third in the region and ranked ninth nationally, ends its season with a mark of 16-2-2. Today was the first match all year in which Lenoir-Rhyne was held scoreless. It entered the match ranked 14th nationally in scoring offense.... (more)
