Women's Lacrosse Ends Season With 19-5 Loss To Top-Seeded Limestone

The Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse season came to an end this afternoon as the nationally second ranked and top-seed Limestone picked up a 19-5 win in the semifinal round of the 2013 Conference Carolinas Tournament. Limestone advances to Sunday's final as it improves to 15-1, while the Crusaders end their season with a mark of 8-9.... (more)

Four Women's Lacrosse Players Earn All-Conference Honors; Miller Named Freshman of the Year

Belmont Abbey freshman midfielder Mackenzie Miller was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year, and three others were named to the all-conference team. Katy Connery and Lindsay Connolly were named to the first team, while Miller and Meghan McSherry were named to the second team.... (more)

Women's Lacrosse Races Past Converse, 15-5 To Advance To Saturday's Semifinal

24 hours after defeating Converse 12-11 in overtime in the regular season finale, the Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team pulled away in the second half and defeated the Valkyries 15-5 in the quarterfinal round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. Belmont Abbey advances to Saturday's semifinal against top-seeded Limestone Saturday afternoon in Burlington, North Carolinas as it improves to 8-8, while Converse ends its season with a mark of 9-9.... Women's Lacrosse Defeats Converse, 12-11 In Overtime; Two Teams To Meet Again Tuesday In Opening Round Of Conference Tournament

Belmont Abbey freshman Reese Gassie caused a Converse turnover deep in the Valkyries zone, which led to sophomore Gina Colella's game winning goal in the second overtime period as the Crusaders women's lacrosse team claimed a 12-11 win in the regular season finale this afternoon at Alumni Field. Belmont Abbey is now 7-8 overall and 4-3 in Conference Carolinas, while Converse is now 9-8 overall and 3-4 in league play.... (more)
