CAMP OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of our camp is to provide a thorough and complete volleyball training program that specifically meets the individual needs of each player whether she is an advanced player, intermediate player or beginner. The campers will be grouped according to age and ability. Drills and coaching techniques are geared to the ability level of that group.
CAMP FORMAT
We believe in individual attention. We have a 1:10 Coach-Camper Ratio with roving supervisors monitoring each group of courts.

CAMP COUNSELORS
The day camp is conducted by the coaching staff and players of Belmont Abbey College along with high school coaches, who have been selected based not only on their knowledge of the game, but more importantly, on their ability to relate to young developing players.

TRAINING:

SETTING
This camp will provide beginner to advanced setters a chance to improve, develop and challenge all aspects of setting. With high repetition, the camp is guaranteed to provide an environment to increase hand position awareness, footwork pattern efficiency, and overall knowledge of the setting position through competitive team drills.

ATTACKING & BLOCKING
Campers will receive swing training and detailed footwork instruction using a variety of offensive tempos. The athletes will learn effective blocking techniques to better prepare them for high level attacking.

SERVING & PASSING
This camp is designed to improve on the fundamental and intermediate styles of passing and serving. We focus on the foundation of platform and awareness to move to the ball as well as teach a basic understanding to float and jump serving.
6 vs 6

Along with repetition drills and contests we strive to create a team atmosphere for the campers. We do this by forming competitive team games to give our campers a better insight about movement on the court. Leading up to the final day, our campers should have built a solid foundation and mindset towards multiple offensive and defensive schemes.

LECTURES:

TRAIN THE BRAIN
CVA demonstrates techniques that athletes can use in the competitive situation to maintain control and optimize their performance. These techniques allow the athlete to relax and to focus attention in a positive manner on the task of preparing for and participating in competition. Mental preparation is key to the athlete gaining the winning edge.

MISSION FOR NUTRITION
We will show a variety of fitness, sports nutrition topics and resources from organizations and institutes that specialize in the sports medicine and exercise science research. We will also explain how a balanced diet, energy levels, fluid levels and a pregame meal planner contribute to peak sports performance.

FITNESS
We will provide athletes the understanding of commitment to conditioning, strength training and being “physically fit” to compete as their highest level.

RECRUITING
Imperative information will be presented to help student athletes & their parents prepare themselves for the college recruitment process.
