The Belmont Abbey men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh at the Queens University Invitational, hosted by Queens University at the par 72 Pinecrest Golf Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. The Abbey finished with a two-day team score of 605, posting a 305 in the first round and a 300 today.
Junior Chris Carvill paced the Abbey with a tie for second place finish after carding a two-under par 70 today. He opened with an even par 72 to sit in a tie for tenth before his two-under par score today. Junior Connor Tomlinson fired a 75 today after opening with a 73. He finished in a tie for 13th as he moved up three spots.
Stephen Keane was two shots better from his opening round 79 as he moved from a tie for 61st to finish in a tie for 54th. Sophomore Peter Tarver Jones opened with an 81 but rallied with a 78 today as he moved from a tie for 73rd into a tie for 72nd. Freshman Kyle McClung fired an 84 today, and after an opening score of 81, he finished in a tie for 86th.
This was the final fall tournament for the Abbey, who will be off until the spring schedule begins in February.
