Belmont Abbey men's basketball junior guard Richard Barbee has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's basketball Player of the Week during week number ten in the 2009-10 season.
Barbee led the Abbey to two wins this week, as he averaged 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. In the win over Lees-McRae, Barbee scored 13 points on 5-9 shooting and sank both of his free throw attempts. He also had seven rebounds and four assists. In the win over Anderson, he posted his second double-double of the year with game-highs of 28 points and ten rebounds, to go along with three assists and two steals. He sank 11 of his 17 field goal attempts and six of his seven free throws.
For the week, he scored 41 points, pulled down 17 rebounds, had seven assists and two steals. He shot 61 percent from the floor.
