Men's Golf Vaults To Second Place After Second Round Of Sea Trail Intercollegiate
After finishing the opening round in a tie for ninth, the Belmont Abbey men's golf team fired a 290 today as it moved into sole possession of second place after the second round of the Sea Trail Intercollegiate, hosted by Elon University in Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
The Crusaders posted a 290 today, 12 strokes fewer than yesterday's total as Chris Carvill tallied a three-under-par 69 to move into sixth place (76-69—145) after finishing the opening round in 30th. Freshman Jordan Frank now sits in 13th after posting a 74 (72-74—146).
Joe Campbell shot a 75 and is tied for 31st (75-75—150) and Peter Tarver Jones posted an even-part 72 to sit in a tie for 38th (79-72—151). David Carvill carded a 75 today (79-75 -154) and sits in a tie for 59th.
The Crusaders trail Division I Murray State by 14 strokes and lead USC Upstate by one shot heading into tomorrow's final round.
