Feed the Moement! Crusaders Athletics Reaches Partnership with Moe's of Charlotte Metro Area

Moe’s Southwest Grill(www.charlotte.moes.com ) in the Charlotte market became the newest corporate partner with the Belmont Abbey College Athletics Department.  This is the second such marketing agreement reached in consecutive days, as the Marketing and Promotions Department is diligently pursuing businesses to raise awareness for the marketing initiative that will be unveiled next week.

Beginning in September, the Moe’s Restaurant in Gastonia (Franklin Square, Phase III) will hold a monthly “Abbey Spirit Day” on the third Wednesday of each month throughout the upcoming school year.  Belmont Abbey College students and supporters can show  their school spirit, enjoy the fresh flavors found at Moe’s, and Abbey Athletics will receive a generous donation based on sales volume.  Details can be found on the Sports Marketing webpage of www.abbeyathletics.com .

Brandon Rivers, Operating Partner (Johnson and Wales, Culinary Arts Department) had nothing but glowing praise for the recent agreement.  “We are excited to be part of Abbey Athletics.  Moe’s is committed to the local community and we couldn’t think of a better partner than Belmont Abbey Athletics.”

Moe’s will further increase their marketing profile on campus with a host of promotional weekends centered around Men’s and Women’s Soccer events at Alumni Field.  Fans will be treated to Halftime productions featuring the ‘Moe-ment of Glory’.   Students will be given opportunities to score prizes from various spots on the pitch, ultimately leading to a Senior Day Skills Competition where one student will earn free Moe’s for a year.

• Belmont Abbey men's and women's soccer was on campus Monday as they prepare for the 2012 season.  The Men will begin the home portion of their schedule September 5, as they tangle with Catawba at 4:00 p.m., while the women open the home schedule on September 8 against Newberry at 1:00 p.m.
