August 3, 2012 Men's Volleyball Adds Two More For 2013Belmont Abbey Head Men’s and Women’s Volleyball coach Mary DeJute announced the addition of two men’s players for 2013. Incoming freshmen Anthony Koyfman (Whitestone, NY/Bayside High School) and Dane Hunsicker (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial High School) will join the Crusaders for their inaugural season. “I am truly excited to add these two young men to our program,” DeJute said. “Both Koyfman and Hunsicker are gifted athletes who are driven to reach their potential. These student-athletes are true team players. I look forward to watching them grow both on the court and in the classroom.” Koyfman is a 6-7 Middle Blocker from Bayside High School in Bayside, NY. He played club volleyball for Warren Six-pack Volleyball club. Koyfman was a two year letter winner and a two-year team captain for Bayside and was named first team all-city his junior and senior seasons. DeJute on Koyfman; “Tony is a very passionate and strong player. Koyfman is a versatile player who can rule the net both offensively and defensively. ” Hunsicker is a 6-6 Opposite Hitter from Centennial High School in Las Vegas, NV. A three year letter for Centennial, Hunsicker captained the team his senior season and was named Most Valuable Player. He was also named all-state honorable mention in 2012. DeJute on Hunsicker; “Dane is a left handed hitter who has a huge ceiling of potential. He puts up a big block and is able to convert on the offensive side.”
