Strong Performances Mark Efforts At Campbell Inaugural Track Meet
The Belmont Abbey Women's Track & Field team continued their strong and consistent efforts at Saturday's Campbell University Irwin Belk Inaugural Showcase Meet.
JoJo Lind was the winner in the Discus Throw with a toss of 122' 10" (37.44m), her second best throw of her career. Leondra Pridgen earned a 3rd place finish in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:07.42, also her 2nd best time ever. Ally Craven finished off the day with her 2nd best time ever in the 3000m Run when she placed 4th in the event with a time 11:26.16.
The meet was the first meet held on the Campbell University Campus since 1987 and was attended by 10 schools from around North Carolina. No teams scores were kept.
Coach Mike De Witt commented on the efforts of the BAC Women: "Our small group of athletes did a good job of competing the week after the Conference Carolinas Championships. It can be difficult to come back the week after a big meet and do a good job! We were aggressive and strong in each event. It speaks well to the energy and motivation of this group."
Next Sunday evening a small group will compete at the Duke Twilight Invitational in Durham.
