October 21, 2011 Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth At Conference Carolinas ChampionshipsThe Belmont Abbey women’s cross country team finished fifth out of 11 teams at the Conference Carolina’s Championship hosted by Queens University and staged at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte. The Crusaders accumulated a team score of 143 only two points behind fourth place finishers Lees-McRae. Queens earned 19 points to take the team victory. The Crusaders top six finishers recorded times that are among the fastest in school history. Olivia Flaggert led the way for the Abbey crossing the line in 21st with a time of 19:50. Allyson Craven came across in 23rd with a time of 19:58, besting her previous best by 30 seconds. Finishing 27th was Monica Remmes with a time of 20:04. Meghan Donovan finished 35th with a time of 20:16. Kristen Mahoney crossed the line 38th with a time of 20:27. Other finishers for the Abbey were Jamie Lee Keller (69th – 22:33), and Elizabeth O'Malley (71st – 22:35.1). Results |
