Volleyball Ends Season With 3-1 Loss At Anderson

The Belmont Abbey volleyball team wrapped up the 2009 season with a 3-1 loss at Anderson University this afternoon. Scores were 23-25, 20-25, 26-24 and 19-25. Anderson improves to 20-12 overall and 12-6 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey ends its season with a record of 6-19 overall and 6-12 in Conference Carolinas.

Bria James led the Abbey offense with 14 kills, while Angela Jubb added 12 on 19 total attacks with just four errors, registering a .421 attack. Morgan Kirby posted nine kills as the Crusaders hit .186 for the match. Kay Schellenberg handed out 17 assists while knocking down three kills.

Defensively, the Crusaders logged 53 kills as Remick Tiller finished with 11 and Juliane Pisano posted ten. James added seven. Steffanie Holler recorded three block assists and a block solo.

Anderson was led by Jamie Lancaster's 18 kills, while Paulette Rivers added 14. Jennifer Moffitt handed out 41 assists.
